How this course can help.
Our aim with this course is to provide you with a good basic knowledge of aluminium metallurgy. Although this course is pitched at an introductory level, you will find that the topics are explored in some depth. For example, we spend 2.5 hours discussing thermal treatments.
You’ll learn about aluminium microstructure, deformation and annealing mechanisms and thermal treatment. As well as metallurgy, we’ll also cover surface control and experimental techniques for problem solving. In all, you will receive 10.5 hours of training in aluminium metallurgy from industry experts.
The course timetable is shown below (and also in the Course Details pdf):
This course is recognised by the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3) as Professional Development.
Who is it for?
Introduction to Aluminium Metallurgy training course is suitable for anyone working in the aluminium industry in a technical role. For example, you may be a Process Engineer with little metallurgical knowledge, or you may be a Metallurgist but from another industry such as steel.
The course is designed for graduates in an Engineering or Materials discipline.
How long is the course?
We will deliver this course as a live online event (using Microsoft Teams) in 3 x half-day sessions.
There will be two-way interaction between the delegates and tutors, so you will really benefit from our expertise. Furthermore, we always restrict the number of participants to ensure maximum interaction.
